Why we make this
AI is rapidly changing how people work. But almost all the news about it is written by tech people, for tech people.
That news is full of jargon, hype and numbers an ordinary professional can't do anything with. So the people who would benefit most are the ones served worst: the people whose work is quietly being changed by AI.
They would happily learn what AI means for their field. What can I do with it? What should I try? What don't I need to worry about? But someone to explain that in plain language was nowhere to be found.
It started with the mother of one of us. She is an interior designer. She wanted to know how AI could make her work easier, faster or more enjoyable. Her friends said exactly the same. There just wasn't anything that explained it clearly enough.
That is why we make inklaretaal. One newsletter per field, with the same AI news as everywhere else, but translated to your work and in plain language. Short sentences, everyday words, examples from real life. No hype, and no story you need a course to follow first.
Because you don't have to be a techie to understand what AI does to your work. You just need someone to explain it.
The makers
inklaretaal is made by Jasper and Bor. We write the newsletters and build everything around them ourselves: from the technology that gathers the news each week to the website you are reading now. Most of it we do together. Jasper leans a bit more toward the technology behind it, Bor toward the design and the reach.
We make inklaretaal for people around us who want to get going with AI, but keep running into explanations that are too technical. We think they deserve to benefit just as much as someone who does have a technical background. That takes no course, just plain language.
