What exactly is inklaretaal?
A weekly newsletter that explains what's happening in AI and tech, in plain language. There is a free newsletter for everyone, and a newsletter for your own field. No jargon, no hype. Every week we turn that week's news into plain language and tell you what it means for you.
Do I need to know anything about tech?
No, quite the opposite. We write for people who aren't tech experts. If a technical term does come up, we explain it right away in plain language.
What are those three levels?
Every newsletter comes in three levels: Starter (just the essentials, extra simple), Practical (the standard) and In-depth (more detail). You choose how deep you want to go, and you can switch for free, as often as you like. Every item links to the original source article.
How often will I get an email?
One clear edition every Tuesday morning, for each newsletter you subscribe to. No flood of emails.
Can I put inklaretaal on my phone?
Yes, and you do not need an app store for it. Your own page holds this week’s edition, your Learning curve and your archive in one place. You can add that page to your home screen, after which it opens like a normal app. On iPhone: tap the share button in Safari, then “Add to Home Screen”. On Android: open the menu in Chrome and choose “Install app”.
What it costs
What does it cost?
There are two kinds. The free newsletter with the big AI news of the past week is for everyone and stays free. Want the news for your own field? Then you choose a subscription. The first month of that is free. After that, your first newsletter costs €7.50 a month and each extra newsletter is €2. Check out the prices.
Do I start paying automatically after the free newsletter?
No. The free newsletter stays free. We do not ask for your payment details and no bill ever arrives on its own. Do you later want the news for your own field? Then you pick a subscription yourself. That subscription has a free first month, and that one does continue automatically. We email you a few days before the paid period starts.
Can I pay yearly?
Yes. Paying yearly costs the same as ten months, so two months are free. One newsletter is then €75 a year (about €6.25 a month), and each extra newsletter is €20 a year. You choose monthly or yearly, and you can switch later on your account page. Check out the prices.
Can I subscribe to more than one newsletter?
Yes. Lots of people follow two or three, for example their own field plus Microsoft 365. Each extra newsletter is just €2 a month. Browse all newsletters.
Stopping and your data
How do I unsubscribe?
Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, so you can always opt out. You can also adjust your preferences or cancel a single newsletter. Your employer gets no message about this.
What do you do with my data?
We need your email address to send the newsletter. Everything else, like your name, your work or your AI experience, is optional and only used to personalize your edition. We never sell your data and never send ads from other companies. Read our privacy policy.
Language and AI
What language is the newsletter in?
In plain English (around B1 level), simple and clear. That's the whole idea: tech explained in a way you understand right away.
Do you use AI to write it?
Yes. AI gathers the news from our fixed sources and writes every edition, under rules we wrote: plain language, the source with every story, every hard word explained. We check that automatically for every edition, before it is sent. Every edition is public on the site, so you can read it back yourself.
