Why we make this
Almost all AI news is written by tech people, for tech people.
AI is rapidly changing how people work. But the news about it is full of jargon, hype and numbers an ordinary professional can't do anything with. The very people whose work is changing get the worst explanation.
They would happily learn what AI means for their field. What can I do with it? What should I try? What don't I need to worry about? But someone to explain that in plain language was nowhere to be found.
It started with the mother of one of us. She is an interior designer. She wanted to know how AI could make her work easier, faster or more enjoyable. Her friends said exactly the same. There just wasn't anything that explained it clearly enough.
That is why we make inklaretaal. One newsletter per field, with the same AI news as everywhere else, but translated to your work and in plain language. Short sentences, everyday words, examples from real life. No hype.
You don't have to be a techie to understand what AI does to your work. That takes no course, just plain language.
The makers
inklaretaal is made by Jasper Valk and Bor Ipema. We write the newsletters and build everything around them ourselves: from the technology that gathers the news each week to the website you are reading now. Jasper mostly does the technology, Bor mostly the design and the reach.
