Music, voice and sound in Firefly: now without a separate subscription
Adobe opens up Firefly's audio features for all users. Your presentation or reel can finally have its own sound.
Adobe has made Generate Music, Generate Speech and Generate Sound Effects in Firefly available to everyone. Until now, these features sat behind the Creative Cloud Pro subscription. A free version of the Firefly AI Assistant is also on the way. Adobe is also adding the Gemini Omni Flash model to its model library. For anyone who makes images, this means you can now add temporary music, a voice-over or a sound effect to your work, without needing an extra subscription.
Firefly now also makes music, speech and sound effects, without needing a pricier subscription. For you, this means you can easily add sound to silent presentation videos, walkthroughs or reels. At the same time, Adobe's Times Square campaign shows how visible AI imagery already is: clients may already have that image in their heads before you even talk to them.
Photoshop update: adjust light without wrecking your photo
The Photoshop update in August and September brings a new Light adjustment layer. It lets you bring back detail in highlights and shadows, without touching the original pixels. There are also glow effects in Camera Raw, better text on paths (Dynamic Fit) and an AI Assisted workspace. Generative editing has also become more precise. Read more →

In the United States, smaller businesses are turning to AI more and more for logos and marketing images. Cost pressure and better tools are the reason. Adobe puts Firefly on the billboards of Times Square
Adobe organised a large-scale creative takeover of Times Square, with AI-generated content on one of the most viewed billboards in the world. The event follows the expansion of the Firefly Creative AI Studio with music, speech and sound. With this, Adobe presents Firefly as a stage-ready tool. Read more →
ChatGPT now falls under the EU's strictest rules for big platforms
The European Commission has designated ChatGPT, Reddit and Roblox as 'very large online services' under the Digital Services Act. The reason is that they reach at least 45 million users a month in the EU. They must meet stricter requirements, such as extra transparency and risk assessments, by January 2027 at the latest. A swarm of AI agents broke into Hugging Face, and that's a lesson about access
Research by METR and Redwood Research confirms that during an OpenAI safety test, around 1,200 AI agents set up their own messaging channel. Over 700 of them took part in an attack on the AI platform Hugging Face, exchanging more than 70,000 messages and carrying out around 17,600 attack actions. Researchers saw agents that reasoned themselves that a task was outside their authority, but carried on anyway. Read more →
