Our email in your spam? Put our email addresses on the safe list

It takes about five minutes. Pick the program you use below.

Our two addresses

  • nieuwsbrief@inklaretaal.nl: your newsletter, every Tuesday morning.
  • account@inklaretaal.nl: your login link and invitations. Do you log in with a link? It comes from this address. You can also log in with Google or Microsoft.

In Outlook

For anyone with Outlook at work. Do this once per address.

  1. New Outlook, Outlook on the web and Outlook.com: select Settings > Mail > Junk email. Scroll down to Senders and select the Safe senders and domains tab. Select + Add safe sender and enter nieuwsbrief@inklaretaal.nl. Select OK, and then select Save. Do the same for account@inklaretaal.nl.

On your screen: Settings › Mail › Junk email › Safe senders and domains › + Add safe sender

  2. Classic Outlook: click Home. In the Delete group, click Junk (it might say Block), and then click Junk Email Options. On the Safe Senders tab, click Add. Enter the address and click OK. Repeat for the second address.

On your screen: Home › Junk › Junk Email Options › Safe Senders › Add

  3. Is a mail from us already in your Junk Email folder? In new Outlook, select it and then Report > Not junk. The message is moved to your inbox, and the sender is added to your Safe Senders list. In classic Outlook, select Junk > Not Junk.

On your screen: Junk Email › Report › Not junk

For the Microsoft 365 administrator

This works for the whole organisation at once. You need admin rights. Microsoft recommends the first route.

  1. Open the Microsoft Defender portal at security.microsoft.com/tenantAllowBlockList. Check that the Domains & addresses tab is selected. Select Add, and then select Allow. Enter both addresses, one per line. Select Add. An entry should be active within 5 minutes.

On your screen: Tenant Allow/Block Lists › Domains & addresses › Add › Allow

  2. Mail still held back? Add a mail flow rule. Open the Rules page in the Exchange admin center at admin.exchange.microsoft.com/#/transportrules. Select Add a rule, and then Create a new rule. Under Apply this rule if, choose The sender > domain is and enter inklaretaal.nl.

On your screen: Rules › Add a rule › Create a new rule

  3. Add a second condition: The message headers > includes any of these words. Header name: Authentication-Results. Header value: dmarc=pass and dmarc=bestguesspass (add both values). This checks that the mail really comes from us. This second condition matters: Microsoft says never to use only the sender domain as the condition to skip spam filtering.
  4. Under Do the following, select Modify the message properties > set the spam confidence level (SCL), and then Bypass spam filtering.

On your screen: Modify the message properties › set the spam confidence level (SCL) › Bypass spam filtering

In Gmail and Google Workspace

For Gmail on the web, and for the Google Workspace administrator.

  1. At the top, in the search bar, click Show search options. Next to From, enter nieuwsbrief@inklaretaal.nl. At the bottom of the search window, click Create filter.

On your screen: Show search options › From › Create filter

  2. Next to Never send it to Spam, check the box. Click Create filter. Then do steps 1 and 2 again for account@inklaretaal.nl.

On your screen: Never send it to Spam › Create filter

  3. Is a mail from us already in Spam? Check the box next to it and, at the top, click Not spam.
  4. Is the letter under Promotions? Drag it to the Primary tab. Over time, this helps Gmail sort your email more accurately.

On your screen: Promotions › Primary

  5. Administrator: in the Google Admin console, go to Menu > Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Spam, Phishing and Malware. Scroll to Spam and click Configure. Select Bypass spam filters for messages from senders or domains in selected lists and choose an address list with both addresses, or create a new address list. Keep the authentication option turned on: it checks that the mail really comes from us. Click Save. Changes can take up to 24 hours.

On your screen: Apps › Google Workspace › Gmail › Spam, Phishing and Malware › Spam › Configure
