What is AI assistant?

An AI assistant is an AI that helps with tasks in your work, such as writing, planning or summarizing, often built into a program you already use.

An AI assistant sits next to your work and helps on request. Copilot in Office and the help button in more and more programs are AI assistants. You ask something, the assistant takes a first stab, and you adjust it. It takes over the dull part; you keep control.

This is how AI enters your work: not as a separate tool, but as a button in software you already know. You stay responsible in the end for what comes out.
