What is Prompt engineering?

Prompt engineering is the skill of phrasing your instruction to an AI so that you get a better result.

Prompt engineering sounds technical, but it is mostly asking clearly. You give context (for whom, for what), you say exactly what you want, and you give an example of the style or format. Often you add what role the AI should answer in, for instance 'explain it as if to a layperson'. Small tweaks often make a big difference.

What this means for you

You do not need a course. With a few habits (context, goal, example) you already get far more out of any tool.

Put precisely

It is mainly about giving context, stating your goal and adding an example. Fixed magic phrasings work differently from model to model and go out of date fast.

Common misconception

That there is one perfect prompt that always works.
