What is Summarizing with AI?

Summarizing with AI is having AI cut a long text, email or meeting down to the key points and action items.

A long email chain, a lengthy report or the minutes of a meeting: AI pulls out the main points in seconds. You get the essentials and what is expected of you, without reading everything three times. Ask specifically for 'the three most important points and my action items' for a usable result.

What this means for you

This is one of the most useful and safest first uses. Do watch out: a summary can miss a nuance, so read the original for important documents.

Put precisely

A summary leaves out whatever the model judges less important. In a long document, that can be exactly the exception or the condition that matters.

Common misconception

That a summary is neutral. Deciding what to drop is already a judgment call.
