What is Transcribing?

Transcribing is turning spoken words into text; AI can type out a conversation or meeting automatically.

AI listens to a recording and types along. A meeting, interview or voicemail becomes readable text, often in a few minutes. You can then have that text summarized. Mind the privacy: a recording of a conversation with colleagues or clients contains personal data.

What this means for you

It saves a lot of typing. Do ask permission before you record a conversation, and do not just drop sensitive recordings into a free tool.

Put precisely

Transcribing works well with clear speech, and far less well with accents, jargon, names and people talking over each other.

Common misconception

That you may simply record a conversation. You need permission, and the recording contains personal data.
