What is Training?

Training is the phase where an AI model learns: it sees an enormous number of examples and adjusts itself a little at a time.

Before you can use an AI tool, the model has been trained. It sees millions of examples and keeps guessing the next bit, for instance the next word. If the guess is wrong, it adjusts itself. It repeats that countless times, until it gets good.

What this means for you

A model only knows what it saw during training. That is why it often knows nothing about recent events, or about your specific situation.
