Google's new translation AI translates live, and keeps your own voice

Gemini 3.5 Live Translate translates spoken language in more than 70 languages, while keeping the speaker's tone and pace.

Google has released a translation tool that translates speech straight into speech, in more than 70 languages and over 2,000 language pairs. The special part: the speaker's tone, pace and pitch stay the same. The translation runs along continuously while someone speaks. The tool is free in Google Translate for Android and iOS. Google Meet is expanding from 5 to more than 70 languages, for now only for business Workspace customers.

Background for subscribers
What this means for you
Talk to a foreign supplier without language stress

Do you ever work with a manufacturer or client abroad? Now you can just speak in your own language and let the app translate it live, keeping your own tone and pace in it. Handy when discussing a material or a delivery. See it as a first aid for the conversation, not as a replacement for a properly written agreement on paper.

A stack of information: data

Google Gemma 4: an AI that runs locally on your laptop, without internet

Google released Gemma 4 12B, an AI model that runs on an ordinary laptop with 16 GB of memory, completely without the cloud. It combines image and speech in one system. Because everything stays on your own device, it is interesting for work with sensitive data.
