Microsoft 365 edition
Copilot can do more in SharePoint, including edit PDFs and restore earlier versions. At the same time, research shows why you need to check AI results and agents.
Copilot can edit PDFs in SharePoint and restore earlier versions
You can edit documents and review changes. Most features require a paid licence.
Is there a PDF in SharePoint that you want to edit? Copilot’s October update makes this easier. You can move pages, remove sections and add attachments. You can work on a page or a section at a time. Copilot can also explain what is in the version history. This is a record of earlier versions of a file. You can ask Copilot to restore an earlier version. You can also review and publish HTML you have created. HTML is the code behind a web page. Most features are part of your employer’s paid Microsoft 365 Copilot licence. Three features use Copilot Credits: image generation (creating pictures), advanced autofill and site analysis. The source does not give a separate date for the Netherlands. Check whether the features are available to you yet.
Check a PDF before sharing the new version. Copilot works in the SharePoint file itself. You choose which pages or sections to change. Then you adjust the layout. You can use the version history to view and restore earlier versions. For HTML, first review the page you created. Then publish it. This lets you decide when the page is ready to share.
An edited document is not automatically correct. Did you remove a page or attachment by mistake? That could change its meaning. So check the content and order before you publish or share anything. Also keep an eye on costs. Most features are part of the paid Copilot licence. Three of the features mentioned use Copilot Credits.
Background for subscribersThis edition shows how AI can help with documents, meetings and recurring work. Copilot can edit PDFs and restore earlier versions. Teams can pin sources and pause notifications. But AI agents can also bypass limits. And a convincing message can still be fake. So check changes, web answers and requests for payment before you trust them. Also agree on who reports AI problems and who reviews important results.
Teams lets you pause notifications and pin sources
In Teams, you can pause notifications for a set time. You can also pin and organise files and links in chats and channels. This helps you find sources linked to the conversation. And notifications interrupt you less often. The update also mentions Facilitator. This feature spots unanswered questions during meetings. It then posts an answer from the web in the chat. The rollout was expected between late September and mid-October. The source says nothing specifically about the Netherlands or the subscription. So check whether the features are in your Teams yet. You can pause notifications for a set time. You can pin important files. A pinned source stays visible in the chat or channel. It does not get buried under new messages. Facilitator works differently. It spots a question that no one answers. It then posts an answer from the web in the chat. A pinned file can become outdated. So check that the information is still correct. Also review any web answer posted automatically. Treat it as information to check, not as a decision.
