ChatGPT now answers questions with charts and tools
Answers are no longer just text. Paid accounts got GPT-6 on 7 October, free accounts a day later.
OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 in ChatGPT. Do you have a paid plan (Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise)? If so, you got GPT-6 Sol from 7 October. Users of the free version and Go got GPT-6 Luna from 8 October. That is a smaller model. A model is the computer program behind the AI.
The update includes Intelligent UI. This lets ChatGPT create answers with charts, buttons, forms and small tools. For example, a calculator or a tool for sharing costs. So an answer is no longer always just text.
OpenAI says ChatGPT also starts answering while it is still thinking. So you see part of the answer sooner. For questions where ChatGPT searches the internet, you wait 44 per cent less than with GPT-5.6 Instant. For Enterprise, the administrator decides whether the new feature is on. On the web, you can turn off the images and tools. Go to ‘Layout and visuals’ to do this.
A chart makes figures easy to read quickly. But that does not mean the data is correct. Buttons and forms can also make an answer look finished. So it can be useful to look at the figures behind a chart.
Background for subscribersChatGPT can show answers with charts and tools. That format does not prove the content is correct. Microsoft 365 Copilot is also getting new features, such as notebooks that will soon carry out regular tasks. Which features you can see depends on your account. With scams, the format matters less too: a flawless email or a familiar voice is not proof. A fixed second check for payment requests, using a number you already know, can help.
Copilot Notebooks will soon be able to carry out recurring tasks
Microsoft is expanding Copilot Notebooks. A notebook brings together sources for one goal. You can now have Copilot make a notebook by describing your goal. Copilot then fills it with sources from work data and the web. You can also add Markdown, TXT and RTF files as sources. These are types of simple text files. This feature is generally available. In Frontier, you can edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files in the notebook. Frontier is Microsoft's programme for new features. You can also create interactive reports and PDFs. Interactive means you can click on things. In the next few weeks, you will also be able to automate recurring tasks. For example, a daily overview or a weekly status presentation. Audio overviews are spoken summaries. They can now also use Outlook emails, Teams conversations and pages from OneNote or Loop. If you save them in OneDrive, they take on sensitivity labels. A label shows how confidential a file is. Would you like to try it? Then you could start with information you can check easily.
