What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is a popular AI chatbot from the company OpenAI that lets you write texts, ask questions and summarize, all in plain language.

ChatGPT is a chat window where you type something and get an answer right away. It runs on a language model (an LLM). You can have it draft an email, summarize a long text or explain a complicated subject. There is a free version and a paid version with more features.

What this means for you

For many people, ChatGPT is their first taste of AI. It is a good place to practice, as long as you check the answers yourself.
