Gemini becomes the default on every Android phone, Canva designs by conversation, and ChatGPT is getting adverts. This week: what that means for your lesson.

The main story

Free lesson preparation got a lot more powerful this week (and Canva now talks with you)

Canva AI 2.0 lets you create a worksheet or poster simply by describing what you want, and a free lesson platform has been added.

Canva is rolling out Canva AI 2.0. You describe your idea in plain language, and the tool creates a design that you can then adjust yourself: layers, text, and images all stay editable. For teachers there is also Learn Grid: a free platform with more than 50,000 lesson resources that automatically suggests lesson activities based on your topic. Both are useful for the dull preparation work, which you then finish off yourself.

What this means for you
One worksheet, multiple levels, without spending an evening cutting and pasting

Want a poster or worksheet to go with a text? Describe what you need in Canva AI 2.0 and adjust the first version yourself. Learn Grid is free to try for lesson activities on your topic. Two limits remain: check everything for facts and level before you hand it out, and do not put pupil names or grades in it. Stick to a neutral topic.

Canva Learn Grid: free lesson platform with 50,000+ resources

Canva launched Learn Grid, a free platform where you can find, create, assign, and run lessons in one place. The AI automatically generates suitable lesson activities based on your topic, for more than 30 activity types. It is available to all teachers and schools, with no paid subscription required.
