The Microsoft 365 edition
The AI news of that week, in plain language.
Copilot is getting new engines, and eight fresh features are appearing in Microsoft 365. Here is what that means for your working day.
Eight new Copilot features in Microsoft 365, with a sales pitch straight from PowerPoint
Microsoft is adding eight features in August 2026 and putting new AI models behind Copilot Chat.
Microsoft has added eight new features to Microsoft 365 Copilot. You can now have a full sales presentation created for you, complete with images and charts, directly in PowerPoint. New AI models are also coming to Copilot Chat: GPT-5.6 and models from Anthropic. Copilot Notebooks, a shared space for brainstorming, is now open to all users. The new Cowork tab lets teams build their own workflows based on internal data, but only with IT approval.
Background for subscribersDo you have a presentation to make this week? Give Copilot in PowerPoint your key points and let it create a first draft with slides and charts. That saves you from staring at a blank screen. But check every chart and every number against your source, because the AI can present something wrong very convincingly. Want to try the Cowork tab or build your own workflows? Ask your IT colleague first, because it requires approval.
