This week, designing moves to the chat window: Canva and Adobe come to Gemini and ChatGPT, and Figma keeps building in smart ways.
Designing from a chat window: Canva and Adobe move into Gemini and ChatGPT
You type what you want, and your trusted design tool creates it, with your brand style already built in.
Canva is now working with Google Gemini. You type "@Canva" in a chat and have a design created instantly, or search for an existing design. You can include your Brand Kit, so your colours and fonts are applied straight away. Adobe is doing something similar: a plugin in ChatGPT that lets you create images, videos, and PDFs through Acrobat and other Adobe apps. The Adobe connector for Gemini has been announced, but is not yet live.
Background for subscribersYou can now create designs directly from a chat window via Canva or Adobe, without switching programmes. Handy for a quick first version. Figma makes it easier to automate repetitive work and hand it over cleanly to developers, with new skills and spacing options. At the same time, European rules have applied since 2 August 2026: AI images you deliver may carry a labelling obligation. Agree with your client in advance on who handles that. And record per AI image what you did yourself, so your creative contribution can be demonstrated.
Canva in Gemini: create a design with your brand style included
Using '@Canva' in a Gemini chat, you can create designs instantly, search for existing Canva content, and turn an AI image into an editable project with separate layers using Magic Layers. You can include your colours and fonts from your Brand Kit in the instruction.
