Project management edition
Copilot moves from sounding board to executor, AI agents are joining your team, and fake videos of your client are now a real project risk.
AI agents join as team members: so who is still steering your project?
Adobe is bringing AI agents into creative workflows as full team members. For a project manager, that changes who is in your team and who you are managing.
Adobe is introducing 'AI Collaborators' in Workfront. AI agents, from Adobe itself but also ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot, join your workflow as a team member. The platform automatically provides those agents with brand guidelines and the project brief. According to BCG research, this can cut project lead times by 80%.
Background for subscribersYour team is growing and becoming more mixed: alongside people, you will soon also be managing AI agents such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, directly from within Workfront. At the same time, the risks are becoming more concrete. Deepfake videos of your client are no longer a future concern, and 40% of the phishing emails in your inbox are already made with AI. On top of that, new transparency rules have applied since 2 August 2026: AI content that your project delivers must be identifiable. That has consequences for your deliverables and your planning.
Copilot becomes a conductor: planning and carrying out tasks across multiple apps
The August updates turn Microsoft 365 Copilot into more than a chat assistant. It becomes an 'orchestration system' that can plan and carry out tasks on its own in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Multi-step actions produce an editable end result. Microsoft itself flags considerations around management, privacy settings and training.
