The Microsoft 365 edition
The AI news of that week, in plain language.
Copilot now builds dashboards and takes meeting notes, and Windows will soon put the app on your screen for you.
Copilot in SharePoint now turns your list into a live dashboard
From a SharePoint list or an Excel file, you get an overview in one go that updates itself.
On 5 August 2026, Microsoft released a new Copilot feature in SharePoint. You let Copilot build an interactive dashboard from a SharePoint list or an Excel or CSV file. The overview stays linked to the data, so you do not have to rebuild it every time. Think of a project status with filters for owner, priority, and deadline.
Background for subscribersDo you keep a project list in SharePoint or Excel? Then you can ask Copilot to make an overview that updates itself. That saves the hassle of copying columns again every week. Do check that the numbers and filters match what you know, before you share the overview.
Word gets rewriting via track changes, plus calendar planning
The August update of Microsoft 365 Copilot brings rewriting features in Word that work through Track Changes, so you see exactly what Copilot suggests. You can also let it plan your calendar via 'Cowork'. Microsoft added new AI models for images and speech.
