Atlassian is releasing the fall release of Jira, with faster boards and AI agents that you can see and measure on the board.

Jira shows what AI agents do on your board

Atlassian has announced the fall release of Jira. The features are coming step by step. By November 2026 at the latest, all Jira Cloud users will have them.

The biggest change: AI agents become visible. Each agent gets its own identity. You can see it on the board, in the list and on the task. In the settings of a space, you can also see where agents are used. You can give them their own knowledge and instructions.

A new dashboard for agent use is on by default. You do not have to set anything up. It links the work of agents to lead time, throughput and delivered work. It counts agents from Rovo, coding tools and other providers.

In addition, according to Atlassian, boards in company-managed software spaces load 22% faster. When you create a new task, Jira suggests fields based on how you and your team work. You confirm each suggestion yourself before it is added.

If you work as a project manager or team lead in Jira Cloud, the work of agents will soon be on the same board as your team's work.

What this means for you
See on the board which work agents do

Each agent gets its own identity and appears on the board, in the list and on the task, so you can see what it is doing. A dashboard that is on by default links the work of agents to lead time, throughput and delivered work, without any setup. Admins can have teams use the same statuses and fields, so reports from different teams fit together better.

Copilot: projects keep an ongoing topic together

A Copilot project contains the chats, tasks, instructions and files that belong together. In Cowork, the part for bigger tasks, projects have existed since October. In November they also come to Copilot Chat. If you work on the same topic for weeks, you keep everything in one place. You then don't have to explain to Copilot every time what it is about. Whether and when you get projects depends on your organization.
