This week: AI that finishes work on its own, new rules that your customer data falls under, and why fake voices affect your job.

The main story

Fake voices and fake videos: fraud that hits you as a salesperson

With AI, scammers pretend to be your boss or your customer, and ask for money or a changed account number.

In 2026, cybercriminals more and more often use fake voices and videos to manipulate staff. They call or video-call as "the director" or a customer who urgently wants a payment or discount. They also show up when account numbers are changed and with insurance claims. You are a target: you talk to prospects you do not know, and you regularly get requests about money. A quick video call to check is no longer a safe test.

What this means for you
Always call back on a number you look up yourself

Agree on one simple rule for yourself and your team: a payment, a discount, or sensitive customer data never goes ahead on just a call or video call, however real it sounds. If you get such a request from "a customer" or "the boss", call back on a number from your own CRM or from the KvK. That costs thirty seconds and, in the worst case, saves you a huge loss and your credibility.

Het programma dat de AI laat werken: een model

OpenAI launched a program for small businesses called ChatGPT Work, a helper that carries out multi-step tasks on its own. Think of preparing a meeting or making marketing material. The newest model, GPT-5.6, is now in all plans, including the free plan.
