Design edition
This week: AI that creates designs itself in ChatGPT, sharper images in Photoshop, and fake bosses on the phone. Plus: what AI actually is for your trade.
Canva is now in ChatGPT: create designs without switching programs
You can now have an AI conversation create, adjust and translate a Canva design, using your own colours and fonts.
Canva now works together with ChatGPT. You ask in plain language for a social post, a presentation or an advert, and you get a Canva design back right away. You can then view, edit and translate it in the same conversation. It also works with your Brand Kit, so with your own colours, fonts and style. That saves time on visual work that often needs to be done in batches.
Background for subscribersIf you work a lot for clients with a fixed house style, this is gold for the boring part: ten variants of an announcement, a set of social posts, an advert in two languages. You have the rough versions made and keep control yourself over taste and composition. Always add your Brand Kit, so the colours and font are right from the start. And check every image for odd details before you share it.
Adobe buys Topaz Labs: sharper images in Photoshop and Premiere
Adobe is taking over Topaz Labs, a company that specialises in improving images with AI. Topaz is strong at upscaling, sharpening, removing noise, and restoring old or blurry photos and videos. This technology may soon come to Firefly, Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere Pro.
