Healthcare edition
This week: new AI help in your familiar Microsoft apps, stricter European rules from 2 August, and scammers sending ever more convincing payment requests with the help of AI.
AI comes to the apps you already work in
Microsoft 365 Copilot gets help that reads documents and charts, summarises them and carries out tasks, right inside Word, Excel and Outlook.
Microsoft keeps adding more AI to the programmes you already use every day. Now you can get help and data from one Copilot window, inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, without switching between apps. There is also "Vision": you show a dashboard, document or error message with your camera or screen, and ask questions about it out loud. For the organisational side of care, this is the easiest way in: you work in an environment you already know and trust.
Background for subscribersFor a team leader or planner, the real gain lies in writing and admin work. Let Copilot in Outlook summarise a long email thread with a family carer, or draft a neat email about a changed appointment. Important: never put client data into the tool. Work with general questions, or anonymise the text first (client A). And always read the result before using it. The time saved is welcome, but care and accuracy come first.
Copilot Cowork carries out a task from start to finish
Microsoft has made Copilot Cowork available worldwide. You describe a task and the system plans, carries it out, and delivers finished work, not just a draft. It charges per use with Copilot Credits, and admins can track costs through a dashboard in the admin centre.
