This week: Copilot gets more models, can finish tasks fully, and learns to watch through your camera. Plus: watch out for fake messages from the boss.

The main story
A stack of information: data

Copilot now does more inside your familiar programs

Microsoft significantly expands Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.

Microsoft changed a lot about Copilot in July. There are now smart helpers (agents) built right into Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. You get help and data inside the Copilot window, without switching between programs. Colleagues can also share helpers they built themselves, through a kind of store, after admin approval. For you, this mainly means: the AI button you already knew can now do more.

What this means for you
Find the Copilot button again in your busiest program

Do you work mostly in Outlook or Excel? Open that program and see what the Copilot window can do now. A lot has been added this month. Try one small task, for example having a long email thread summarised. Always check the result before you reply to it. The summary sometimes misses a nuance.

A talking AI window: a chatbot

Copilot can now watch along through your camera or screen

Microsoft is rolling out 'Vision' for Microsoft 365 Copilot. You show a dashboard, document, error message or object through your phone screen or camera, then ask questions about it out loud. Copilot explains what it sees and suggests next steps.
