Edition 202633 · Monday 10 August 2026 · Clarity since 2026

This week: new European rules on AI, a LinkedIn button against fake posts, and Copilot quietly recording your meetings. For you as a salesperson, one thing matters most: where AI helps, and where you stay in charge.

The main story
Een pratend AI-venster: een chatbot

Copilot on your phone now records your client conversation: handy, but always mention it

Microsoft turns the recording feature on by default, so check this before your next client visit.

Microsoft has expanded the Copilot app on your phone. It can now record a conversation in real life, so a client visit without a laptop too. The audio lands in your OneDrive and is typed out automatically. Handy: after a conversation you have a tidy report for your CRM. But watch out: the feature is on by default, and you may only record people if you say so beforehand and they agree.

What this means for you
From client visit to CRM note without pen and paper

Say you are at a prospect on location, without a laptop. Turn on your Copilot app (and mention it), and afterwards you have a typed-out conversation in your OneDrive. From there you pull the key points and the next step for your pipeline in a few minutes. That way you forget no agreement and you are sharp right away at the next contact. Two things stay your job: announcing that you are recording the conversation, and reading the report yourself before you do anything with it.

From 2 August 2026: chatbots and fake content must identify themselves

New European rules now apply. A chatbot must say that it is AI, and images or video made with AI must get a label. The rule applies to large companies and to freelancers. Fines run up to 15 million euros or 3% of yearly turnover.
