Office management edition
This week: smarter help in your email and calendar, new rules on fake videos, and why calling back is sometimes more important than ever.
Copilot now does the job, not just the concept
Microsoft Copilot Cowork plans, carries out and delivers a finished result. Handy, but you pay per use.
Microsoft has made Copilot Cowork available worldwide. You describe a task, and the system plans the work, carries it out and delivers a finished result. So not a rough first draft, but a ready product. Payment works per use: you pay with so-called Copilot Credits, one cent per credit. The free trial period (Frontier) stopped on 1 July 2026.
Background for subscribersBecause Cowork charges per use, the bill can grow without anyone noticing. You're often the one keeping an overview. Ask your admin for a budget limit in the Cost Management Dashboard, so you're not faced with surprises afterwards. And agree who may use it and for what, exactly as you would with other subscriptions.
Copilot now points to the exact sentence in a file
Microsoft rolled out 'deep citations' in Copilot. Instead of pointing to a whole file, Copilot now links to the precise passage in a Word or PowerPoint document that an answer is based on. Meetings, webpages and PDFs will follow soon.
