This week is about money and control: Microsoft 365 is getting more expensive, scammers are getting smarter, and there are new tools that really save you time.

The main story
A talking AI window: a chatbot

Microsoft 365 gets more expensive on 1 July, and you'll pay per use more often

More AI in your familiar programs, but also a higher bill and a new payment model.

From 1 July 2026, Microsoft raised the prices of almost all business Microsoft 365 subscriptions worldwide. The reason: more than 1,100 new features, with the AI helper Copilot in the lead role. At the same time, a new way of paying arrives: with Copilot Cowork you pay per use, with "credits" worth one cent each. If you renewed your contract before 1 July, you keep the old rates for now.

What this means for you
Convert your AI bill back into hours, not features

A more expensive subscription is only worth it if it really saves you time or brings in customers. List your Microsoft 365 subscriptions: what do you pay per month, and what do you actually use of it? If you switch to paying per use with Copilot Cowork, set a budget limit straight away via the cost dashboard, so a busy month doesn't catch you off guard. If you work with a few people, agree who is allowed to switch on the expensive features.

A faked face: a deepfake

Deepfake fraud is growing: fake voice and fake video of someone you know

In 2026, scammers are increasingly making convincing fake videos and cloned voices to get people to transfer money or share data. Think of a fake invoice, a 'boss' who calls, or a client with a suddenly new account number. In 2024 there were already almost 10,000 cases of AI fraud, with about 100 million euros in damage.
